The Rainham and Wigmore Community Association was formed in 1968, originally envisioned as a general social club similar to a working men's club but for the purposes of providing a service to users of the community centre.

Through much of it's recent life it has been adopted as more of an alternative to what was available elsewhere, and quickly became one of the most popular places for alternative minded people to hang out, have a drink and a laugh. Providing music and entertainment including gigs by local and sometimes not so local bands and theme nights that are the envy of any pub who's ever tried to drum up business with them.

Unlike most places that you can go to nowadays we DO NOT charge on the door for standard nights for people to come in and have a drink with friends and make new ones, combine that with the unusually cheap drinks (compared to just about all other venues we have been in, yes you will get change for a single drink from a fiver) we think that the Oast House is a step above the rest for value and did we mention it also has one of the few remaining 50p per game Pool tables.

So.... Where Are We?

Well basically it couldn't be much easier to get here, we are situated right next to rainham train station if you look in the right direction you will see it straight away, for those of you lucky enough to drive (or unlucky enough to be the taxi service for the drinkers) the oast has its own car park on site.
